8 days / 7 nights
Day 1: Cuiabá Airport - Chapada dos Guimarães
After baggage claim at the airport, our tour guide will wait with a sign with your name on it. Then you drive about 70km to the town of Chapada dos Guimarães. The village of Chapada is located north-east of Cuiabá and has about 16,000 inhabitants. The village is situated on a rocky plateau, 836 metres above sea level. Gorges, table mountains, caves, rivers and waterfalls are part of this impressive landscape. After the Amazon region in the north of the state of Mato Grosso and the Pantanal, this Table Mountain is the third ecosystem in this region, which is unique in the world. Check-in at the Pousada, in Chapada. Lunch depends on arrival at the airport. After lunch you drive to the Mirante lookout, from where you have a beautiful view over the countryside. Mirante is also the geographical centre of South America. You will enjoy a short hike in the Table Mountain. Afterwards you will visit other attractions (rock sculptures, small waterfalls etc.) in this area. These excursions depend on the opening hours of the facilities, which are constantly changing and cannot be planned in advance. In the evening return to Chapada and dinner. Rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in the Pousada.
Day 2: Chapada dos Guimarães
After breakfast you will visit the largest waterfall in the region, the famous "bridal veil" waterfall ("Veu de Noiva"). Afterwards we will have lunch in the village of Chapada. After lunch you will take a short hike in the Table Mountain. Dinner and overnight is in the pousada.
Day 3: Chapada dos Guimarães - Pousada in Nobres
After breakfast, you drive to Bom Jardim, near Nobres (about 2 hours, 150 km). Lunch is in the pousada. After lunch you can enjoy the unique beauty of this colourful landscape. Afterwards you will be equipped with snorkel gear (life jacket, diving goggles, snorkel and diving shoes will always be cleaned after use). In the crystal clear spring pool you can enjoy the underwater world. Fish like the Pintado, Dorado and various aquarium fish live in this water basin. Afterwards you glide snorkelling down the river. In the late afternoon you drive to Lagoa Azul (around 17:00 o'clock), where hundreds of different bird species (yellow-breasted macaw, parakeets, hyacinth macaw and other parrot species) live. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 4: Pousada in Nobres - Pousada UeSo Pantanal
After breakfast you drive to the Pantanal (288 km, 38 km of it are natural roads on the famous Transpantaneira). On the Transpantaneira you do several stops to see the flora and fauna. At arrival at the Pousada UeSo Pantanal, you will be served lunch in buffet form. After lunch and a little rest you go on a stalking tour on foot, hopefully to see the Capuchin monkeys, maybe even the howler monkeys. You can also climb our 17 meter high tower and enjoy the view. Return to the lodge for dinner. Afterwards time at leisure.
