... frequently asked questions

The Pantanal can be visited all year round. During the dry season from May to September many animals gather at the waterholes. During the rainy season from November to April the vegetation grows and everything is green. During this time the jaguar safaris in Port Jofre are no longer possible. But a visit during the rainy season is also highly recommended. During this time mammals and birds gather on the raised plains.

Apart from the recommended tetanus vaccination, which is useful all over the world, no further vaccination is required for the Pantanal region. We do not have malaria in this area. Against mosquitoes a mosquito net protects you from the windows. A mosquitospry and wearing bright, but not neon-luminous clothes also helps against mosquitoes.

In the Pantanal there are no clean flow sources. We draw our water for the sanitary facilities, laundry, garden and animals from the groundwater. This is treated by natural sedimentation and filters. Our local stomachs also resist this water. The water is also of sufficient quality for brushing your teeth. For you, we provide drinking water from Cuiabá in standard bottles. We hope you understand that we charge the following prices for bottled water:

1,5 l table water (Pet), 9 BRL
0.5 l table water (Pet), 6 BRL
1.5 l sparkling mineral water (Pet), 10 BRL

Our good-natured horses carry even guests without riding experience through the Pantanal. We will provide you with a riding helmet.

Our boats are equipped with paddles and some of them with electric motors, because petrol engines scare away the wild animals. However, on the Jaguar tour we cannot do without the petrol engines, as the distances are very long. Between November and the end of May Jaguar tours on the river are not possible, because of the high water level in the starting point Porto Jofre.

Although the airport is called "Marechal Rondon International Airport", it can only be reached via domestic connections. If you are coming from outside Brazil, you will most likely arrive via Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia or São Paulo.

Drohne im Schlafmodus

Please put your drone into sleep mode.

Wildlife, especially birds, are disturbed by the drone in their natural habitat. Certain birds of prey even attack this vehicle, or they leave their home/hunting area. For the wild animals, the drone is an enemy that takes their place. Great, if you take our nature seriously, Thank You.

In general, we run the jaguar safaris all year round. During the dry season from June to November, the jaguar safari is usually possible. During the «green» season, it depends on the rainfall whether the jaguar tour can take place and whether the road to Porto Jofre is passable. Should we not be able to offer the jaguar excursion in the «rainy season», you will receive a price reduction on the total price.

Travel postponements within the same year or to the following year are free of charge. Otherwise, the following cancellation conditions apply: after payment: 10% of the total amount, 30 days to 8 days before travel: 50% of the total amount, 7 to 0 days before travel: 100% of the total amount
